Privacy policy

Neonate Nerds Edu, LLC (“we”, “us”) runs this website and teaches the classes booked through it. This policy covers what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Effective September 17, 2026 · Version v1.0 · Last reviewed September 17, 2026

Notice at collection — the short version

We collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the credential or licence number you choose to give us (optional), details of the class you booked, and payment/transaction records.

We use it to hold your seat, take payment, issue your provider card or contact-hour certificate, run the class safely, and contact you about your booking.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Card numbers never reach this website. Card payments go straight to our payment processor.

Your rights — including access, correction, deletion and limiting the use of sensitive information — are set out in Your California privacy rights. Contact: privacy@neonerdedu.com.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to https://neonerdedu.com and to the classes you book through it. It doesn't apply to websites we link to, including the certifying bodies' portals (American Heart Association, American Academy of Pediatrics / HealthStream, AWHONN) and our payment processor — those have their own privacy policies, and when you create an account there you're dealing with them directly.

2. What we collect, and where it comes from

CategoryWhat it includesWhere it comes fromRequired?

Internet or network activity IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring page — server logs kept by our host, and analytics if enabled Automatically, when you load a page Automatic

We do not collect government-issued ID numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric information, health information or information about a consumer's sex life or sexual orientation. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

3. Credential and licence numbers (sensitive information)

Our booking form offers an optional field for a credential or licence number. We treat that as sensitive personal information: we collect it only if you type it, we use it only to accurately issue your provider card and to keep the completion record your employer or licensing body may ask for, and we do not use it for any other purpose. You can decline to provide it — nothing about your booking depends on it. You may ask us to delete it once your card has been issued.

4. Why we use your information

  • To hold your seat, confirm your booking and process payment for it.
  • To issue your provider e-card or contact-hour certificate and to record course completion.
  • To run the class — including checking prerequisites such as NRP Part 1 completion or fetal-monitoring pre-course work.
  • To contact you about your booking: confirmations, reminders, changes to a date, or questions about your registration.
  • To answer enquiries you send through the contact or private-class forms.
  • To keep financial, tax, insurance and compliance records as required by law.
  • To send you upcoming class dates and offers — only if you tick the optional marketing box. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
  • To keep the website working, secure and free of spam and abuse.

5. Payments — what this website actually handles

We never collect or store your card number, expiry date or security code on this website. If you pay by card, you're taken to a secure hosted payment page operated by our payment processor, and your card details go directly to them. We receive a transaction record — the amount, the date, the status and a transaction reference — and nothing that could be used to charge your card again.

If you pay by Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay or Google Pay, that payment happens inside those apps or services under their own terms and privacy policies. We see what they show us: typically your name, a handle or phone number, the amount and the note you wrote.

We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and for as long as needed to resolve a dispute.

6. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only in these situations:

WhoWhyWhat they get
Our web host (DreamHost)Hosting this website; server logs and any email routed through the hosting accountEverything submitted through the site is stored on their servers on our behalf

These service providers are contractually limited to using your information to perform their part of the service for us.

7. Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of our own, and it does not run cross-site behavioural advertising. Our host may set a strictly necessary cookie or record standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested, timestamp) for security and reliability.

We have analytics switched off. If we enable a privacy-respecting analytics tag in future, this page will say so before it happens.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: we don't track you across other sites, so there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" signal to stop. If we ever sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law — which we do not do today — we would honour opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control automatically, and we would list a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on this page.

8. How long we keep it

  • Booking and enrolment records: kept while you are a client and afterwards as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Course completion records: kept to verify certification history and to support renewals — generally the life of the certification and a margin beyond it, plus any period required by an issuing body.
  • Credential numbers: deleted on request once your card has been issued.
  • Enquiries that don’t turn into bookings: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Marketing consent: kept until you withdraw it, then suppressed so we don’t contact you again.
  • Server logs: as per our host’s retention (typically short-term).

9. Your California privacy rights

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”), and under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (“CalOPPA”). We extend the following to every California resident regardless of whether a statutory threshold currently applies to our business — it is simply how we operate:

  • Right to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, the sources, and the purposes.
  • Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax or certification purposes).
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information — including that optional credential number in section 3.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not refuse you service, charge you more, or give you a worse experience because you exercised a privacy right.
  • Right to data portability — ask us and we will provide the information you gave us in a portable format.

How to exercise a right

Email privacy@neonerdedu.com with the right you want to exercise and the email address or booking reference we'd know you by. We will:

  • acknowledge your request within 10 business days;
  • respond substantively within 45 calendar days — we may tell you if we need up to 90 days, and why;
  • verify your identity by matching the details you give us against our records (we will not ask for more information than necessary);
  • accept a request from someone authorised to act for you, with proof of authorisation.

If you would rather not email, you can mail us at the postal address on the contact page. If you're unhappy with our response, California law lets you complain to the California Attorney General or the California Privacy Protection Agency.

Shine the Light

California Civil Code §1798.83 lets California residents request information about personal information disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing. Requests may still be sent to privacy@neonerdedu.com.

10. How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS. Booking data is stored on our hosting account with restricted permissions and is accessed only by the instructor and the staff who need it to run classes. Card data is never stored here. We keep access to the administration area behind authentication and restrict it to the people who need it.

No system is perfect. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant authority as required by California law (Civil Code §§1798.29 and 1798.82) without unreasonable delay.

11. Children

Our classes and this website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a class for minors is arranged (for example a school group), a parent or guardian provides the information. If you believe we hold information about a child, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will post the revised version here, update the effective date and version above, and — for significant changes to how we use information you've already given us — tell you by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
